Senator Mark Dayton hosted the event, lending his name and support to Thomley, who faces a tough race against incumbent Steve Smith. John Derus also co-hosted the event at Rossi’s Steakhouse in Minneapolis.
“I think all across America, and in Minnesota in particular, we know that this is the year for change. The old ways of doing things aren’t working anymore, and it’s painfully apparent especially when we look at the condition of our schools, our healthcare system, and in the lack of support for small business,” said Thomley. “We can support our most vulnerable citizens, including our children and seniors, without sacrificing growth in business or cutting into American’s paychecks. It’s just going to take a new mode of leadership, and a new type of governing. The old guard just isn’t getting it done.”
Thomley, a local businessman who started his own company at the age of 19, is running for the House of Representatives seat in District 33A.
